Amy Fuller is a photographer and reporter for the Crusader. Fuller is a sophmore and plans to continue her education at Emporia State in the Spring. Fuller plans on becoming a jornalism advisor in secondary education. Fuller spends her evenings working at JC Penny, and working on her favorite hobby, scrapbooking. She also enjoys putting together jigsaw puzzles, weightlifting, and playing with her dog Daisy. She swears her dog is half kangaroo, because of its ability to jump almost six feet in the air. When staff member Jeremy “Ethan” Smith was asked what he will remember most about Fuller, he replied, “I’ll always remember how she beat me at wrestling two times in a row.” Fuller is still accepting challenges for a rematch from Smith.
Courtney Miller is a member of the Crusader staff. She writes and occasionally takes a picture or two. Miller is a freshman, who hasn’t quite figured out what she wants to major in. However, she has narrowed it down to english or psychology. She spends most of her spare time working at the Seward County Appraiser’s Office, or out with friends. Miller plans to finish two years here at Seward County Community College, then go on to either Wichita State University or K-State University. She is know for her rapidly changing moods and severe procrastinating.
Connie Whiteley is a reporter and photographer for the Crusader. She is a freshman at Seward County Community College and majoring in journalism. Whiteley’s future ambitions are to be a war correspondent and be a press reporter for the White House. Her interests are reading and anime. She also really enjoy learning history.
Aaron Kentner is a floater with very little ambition. He works at Wal-Mart where he works or has worked in pretty much every department. He is in a local band called “Filangees” where he plays the bass guitar and sings vocals. he spends most of his free time surfing the internet or playing with the band. Kentner enjoys movies and music, mostly indie films and punk music. He also spends a lot of time doing little to nothing at home or around town with friends. His nickname “The Stack” was given to him by his friends on the Crusader staff. Aaron attended college the first time around at the University of Oklahoma, where he majored in pre-med, and started on the OU Varsity Rugby team. He enjoys soccer and rugby.
Shawn Manning is a the photo editor of the crusader. He is a sophomore criminal justice major who earns money working as a manger in the Wal Mart Tire Lube Express. Manning first swept the bingo halls of the VFW, and was later promoted to bartender. Manning is also the president of Sigma Chi Chi, the campus’s criminal justice club. Nicknamed “The Blade” by his buddies on the newspaper staff, he has an interest in photography, layout design, and ad sales. He is also known for his road rage or as he calls it “driving Mark Martin Style.” He has a short temper with beeping alarm clocks and other annoying inanimate objects. In the spring, Manning will continue his education at Emporia State University.
Jericho Hockett is a sophomore this year on a Presidential Scholarship at SCCC. Her major is currently undecided, but she is interested in several areas of psychology. She joined the Crusader Staff this semester because of her interest in journalism that was began when she was co-editor of her high school newspaper her senior year. The aspects she likes most about journalism are writing and the opportunities to meet new people and make good connections. In her spare time, Jericho enjoys creative writing, drawing portraits of friends, singing, modifying clothes into her own style, running, participating in leadership activities at her church, and rummaging through her refrigerator for food—especially chocolate.
Houston Pierce is the Crusader's sports writer. He comes from the big town of Liberal, Kansas. Accounting is his major and he works for Brown's Furniture Clearance Center. In the summer he works for Caribbean Ice (the red shack), and plans to attend Kansas State next year. He has the most beautiful girlfriend in the world, Ragan. When not in school, he attends church and spends time with his nieces and nephews.
