Seward County Community College’s Student Government Association recently approved the activity fee distribution report. The report determines what percentage of SCCC student activity funds will be allocated to each student activity account.
The following are the accounts and the percentages allotted to them: athletics, 10 percent; cultural growth, 2.5 percent; intramurals, 4 percent; SGA, 18 percent; student life, 33 percent; newspaper, 2.5 percent; music/drama, 2.5 percent; and SGA student/club allocation, 27.5 percent.
Each SGA member was given a list that provided account information. After a lengthy discussion over what each percentage represents, SGA unanimously passed the motion to approve the report.
The student life account started the current year with $8,348.45 and had an expenditure os $9,443.11. The SGA student/club allocation account started with $6,914.59 and had an expenditure of $368.95.
The intramurals account started the current year with $1,005.76 and had an expenditure of $445.26. SGA’s account started with 4,525.92 and had an expenditure of 2,373.22.
The cultural growth account started the year with $6,340.36 and so far has had an expenditure of $638.60, but will also be funding the Spring Fiesta to take place on April 27.
The money left in each account will rollover into next year’s funding.
