Music department to present spring concerts

The Seward County Community College Music Department will be presenting The Formal Concert and The Pops concert in the SCCC Showcase Theater. The Formal concert will be on April 26 at 7:30 p.m. It will feature The Wind Ensemble and the Singing Saints Concert Choir.
The Wind Ensemble will be performing patriotic music, while the Saints Concert Choir will also be performing gospel and spiritual music.
The Concert Choir has chosen to perform fun entertaining music like “Joyful, Joyful” from the movie Sister Act 2, as well as “Dry Bones”, “Swinging with the Saints” and more.
“I really enjoy the music we are singing and I can’t wait to perform it,” said Carina Diaz De Leon who is part of the Concert Choir.
The Pops Concert will be on April 28 at 7:30 p.m. This concert will feature the Sound Express Show Choir, who will be performing all music theater and broadway songs. The Performance will feature songs from shows like Gypsy, Hairspray, Greace, Footloose and more.
Lori Geis, show choir director, did not hesitate when saying, “Everybody who could come should attend because it is going to be an amazing show. These kids have worked really hard and the audience will not be disappointed.”
Jaime Mejia Jr., show choir member, has also commented on the upcoming concert, “It will be a very fun concert with good singing and some funny performances.”
Tickets for the performances cost $2. SCCC?students and courtesy card holders will have free admission with an ID, but must pick up tickets.
Tickets can be picked up in the Humanities Office. All money raised from the concerts will go to the SCCC Development Foundation.
