'Halloween'

If anyone considering seeing this film is aware of whom Rob
Zombie is, then they are prepared for the kooky, disturbing
style that is bound to come out in his movies. He has been involved
with "House of 1000 Corpses" which was by far a much
nuttier, gory one than this was.
"Halloween" is the story of a young boy
named Michael Myers who grows up with a working mother and her
alcoholic boyfriend who is constantly prodding and poking fun
at him, usually while being intoxicated. He begins to formulate
a passion for hurting small animals and enjoys watching them
suffer and die slowly in pain. His teachers decide to take action
and his twisted mind is obvious when his constant mask-wearing
fetish and violent actions get out of hand.
The movie was nothing too deep and was basically
a simple, bloody horror, but I thought that Rob Zombie did an
impressive job of portraying Michael Myers when he was a young
boy. The details of the boy having an innocent looking face,
full lips with long blonde hair and constantly wearing a crayon
colored clown mask makes him look as if he's incapable of hurting.
That's the irony of how a quiet, keeping-to-himself kind of
kid could guiltlessly murder his family and others.
I have seen other Halloween movies following this
one and of course they had the famous actress Jamie Lee Curtis
and eventually her hunk of a son Josh Hartnett, but truthfully
these just weren't good quality movies. Honestly, what were
there, four of them? The immortal killer, Michael Myers could
NOT be murdered for goodness sakes! How unrealistic is it when
the man is smashed in between a pick up truck and a wall, then
his head is cleanly chopped off, but his hand still manages
to reach out to touch his sister? Michael Myers is clearly not
a human man if this could happen. I know that the Halloween
movies are supposed to be completely unrealistic, mindless and
entertaining, so if this isn't what you're in for, then look
for a little deeper film. Rob Zombie did a remarkable job in
the detail of this movie and in keeping the audience shocked.
This was proved with the heads being turned away in disgust
and the gasps and screams I heard throughout the theater while
sitting comfortably in my chair.
