Breanna Francis of Tyrone, Okla., niece and great niece of SCCC maintenance Chris Schroeder and Ruby Hitchcock, has been battling leukemia for a year after the cancer returned.

During the month of December, Breanna contracted an infection known as pseudomonas. In an effort to treat the infection, doctors were forced to burn the skin off her arm, and Breanna was sent to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.

To help fight the expenses incurred, a donation dinner will be available 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 11 at the Hooker, Okla., American Legion. The dinner will feature ham, cheesy potato casserole, green beans and salad. The dinner will be sponsored by the student councils of various Oklahoma panhandle schools, as well as the Hooker, Okla., Masonic Lodge.
