The Lady Saints have only a limited number of games left this season to determine if they are going to the playoffs. Standing with a record of 28-7, 5-3, some of the players have really improved.Sydney Cicchetti has been pitching well in her games, and she had and outstanding game when she helped the Lady Saints with a 6-0 win, defeating the Western Nebraska cougers on March 27.“She’s become a leader and she has learned her strengths and weaknesses,” said head coach of the Lady Saints, Andrea Gustafson. “We’re a good team, but just not good enough. We just need to focus more and play harder.”Leah Sitter is definitely taking her advice as she broke the all- time stolen base record. She has the record of 45 thefts in her...

The Lady Saints softball team made a comeback on Oct. 6 against Dodge City after losing a double-header game against Pratt on Oct. 1. “We didn’t play well at all,” Coach Andrea Gustafson said. “We have the physical ability to be a good softball team, we just don’t stay focused and I want to improve on that.” There was much underestimating done at the Pratt game. “We killed them all the time last year,” Lady Saint Leah Sitter said. “We did really well at Dodge. We all came together and made very few errors.” The Dodge City game went much better according to Coach Gustafson. Lady Saint Jill Grounds said, “We really focused coming back from Pratt.” To end their pre-season, the Lady Saints challenged the alumni to a...

Coach Andrea Gustafson said the fall goal was to “improve each and every time we play.”
The players seem to be buying into that goal.
“We’re improving a lot,” Lady Saint player Daniela Catano said, looking forward to the Lady Saints next game Friday, Oct. 1 at Pratt. “Just have to do good in practice this week and focus.”
Her teammate Bianca Adame agrees.
“We have a lot more confidence coming off this weekend,” Adame...
